This Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Has Been Stretched Into a Rolls-Royce-Style Luxury Limo

Land Cruiser, Stretched!

The Toyota Land Cruiser 300 is a reasonably spacious SUV, but someone clearly thought otherwise. Indian design and customization studio DC Design added almost four feet to the wheelbase to turn this LC 300 into a stretch limo, complete with reclining loungers, a full-size television screen, Rolls-Royce-inspired starlight headliner, and oodles of interior space. Subtle on the outside and extravagant on the inside, this one-off build is more tastefully-appointed mobile living room than rugged, off-road-capable SUV.

On the Outside

From nose to tail, this Land Cruiser limo measures an imposing 243.5 inches, which is a whole 47 inches more than the stock car, and 16.5 inches longer than the colossal CadillacEscalade ESV. The most striking exterior feature on this car, aside from the extended wheelbase of course, is the reworked bumper with that imposing grille up front. All black, except for the Toyota logo front and center, the industrial-looking grille is reminiscent of a wrought-iron gate with a bold diamond lattice design that conveys an impression of hand-forged metalwork. The rear end seems unchanged from stock, although the roof has been raised by a few inches to unlock more headroom on the inside. The dark blue paint and black 18-inch alloys are decidedly understated, but the interior is a whole other story.

On the Inside

While this may have started life as a five-seater SUV the interior now resembles a comfortable lounge or private movie theatre. The cabin is finished in tan leather, with a pair of comfortable recliners with extendable leg rests, thick cushioning, and integrated armrests. These seats are positioned to the rear, facing the cavernous interior and a broad sofa. The side panels feature wood trim, black accents, and chrome grab handles, while privacy is ensured with powered blinds on all the windows. Thick carpeting on the floor, a starlight headliner up top, and warm ambient lighting give the space a cocooned, ultra-premium ambience, and a wall-to-wall television on the partition between driver and passengers completes the cinema effect.

Under the Skin

Mechanically, the LC 300 limo is mostly stock. It is powered by Toyota’s 3.3-liter twin-turbo diesel V6 that puts out 304 horsepower and a healthy 516 lb-ft of torque. A 10-speed auto ‘box handles transmission duties, with power being sent to all four wheels.

How much does it cost?

The current generation Toyota Land Cruiser 300 isn’t sold in the U.S., however, it retails for the equivalent of about $280,000 in India. This pre-owned custom Land Cruiser limousine with about 3,700 miles on the clock is up for grabs at Big Boy Toyz, a popular luxury and exotic vehicle dealership, for just under $270,000.
