Gorgeous convertible brings back a classic Bentley color
- Violette paint color makes a comeback on bespoke Continental GTC Speed
- Vibrant specification commissioned by Bentley collector
- Bentley Paint Shop can resurrect any classic Bentley color
The process of customizing a new Bentley is as much of an occasion as actually driving one, such is the British marque’s vast options list. By delving into the Mulliner catalog, well-heeled customers can dream up some color combinations you’ll simply never see in your average sedan SUV. It's part of why some believe Bentley has surpassed Rolls-Royce in the ultra-luxury segment.
The latest is a special commission of the Bentley Continental GTC Speed—now a 771-horsepower beast—already a majestic machine even in plain white. But a UK-based client with a more adventurous streak wanted his GTC Speed in a rare, blue-purple tone called Violette, and the interior is just as grand.

Resurrecting A Historic Bentley Color

Bentley Continental GTC Speed in Violette
Bentley
Bentley said that Violette has been used before, but it’s relatively uncommon. Thanks to the Bentley Paint Shop, any color from the company’s history can be brought back to life on a modern model. Violette joins Sage Green from the 1950s, Shell Grey from the 1960s, and Rubino Red from the 2000s as classic colors that have recently been applied to new Bentleys.
The owner of this particular Bentley already owns six Bentaygas and a Continental GT, and believes these luxury cars shouldn’t play it safe in terms of specification: One of his Bentaygas is finished in Magenta, and he chose Scarab Green for the Continental GT.

This Continental GTC Speed looks sensational in the blue-purple color, which is matched by a seven-layer material canvas roof in a Dark Grey Metallic weave. Gloss Black exterior brightware and black 22-inch wheels complement the Violette paint to perfection.

A Vibrant, Deluxe Interior

The lavish cabin of this convertible is just as bold as the exterior. Tanzanite Purple hide covers the center console, doors, steering wheel, and seatbacks. Light Linen hide is the primary color for the seats and other sections of the interior, allowing the purple and numerous Lilac accents to stand out. The Lilac seat piping/stitching is intricate and stunningly finished.

While modern Bentleys have evolved to incorporate digital displays, these do not dominate the interior (we're looking at you, Porsche) or detract from the old-school charm of sitting inside a Bentley. The Stone Veneer finishes, a highly textured veneer, has been applied liberally. It has a natural tactile texture and can be finished in Copper, Autumn, Galaxy, or Terra Red. The finishing touch is the Dark Chrome Interior Specification.
Mulliner Upgrades Chosen By Most Bentley Customers

Over 70 percent of Bentley customers now add at least one Mulliner feature to their cars, as the company responds to growing demand for personalized details.
In July, the Mulliner division introduced a range of new colors and materials, including several open-pore wood veneers, carbon fiber finishes with four different tints, and yacht-inspired interior finishes.
From a Candy Pink Bentayga to this Violette Continental GTC Speed, no commission is beyond the expertise of the Mulliner team.
